ELA (Grammar/Writing/Literature/Poetry

• ·         Grammar/Writing: This week scholars will continue their analysis of fables as well as have an assessment on types of sentences and sentence diagrams. 

• ·         Literature: This week in in Literature scholars will continue reading Prince Caspian. If your scholar does not have their own copy of the classic, please make sure that they have one as there will be assignments to be done at home that require the book for text evidence. 

• ·         Poetry: We will be continuing practicing “The Violet.” We will begin reciting the poem on 9/2/2022. Each day in class we are going to analyze one stanza and have the scholar’s practice reciting the poems as well as look at the structure, rhythm, rhyme, of the poem.

History: This week scholars will wrap up the unit on maps and have an assessment on 8/26.

Science: This week scholars will loot at how energy transfers from one to another as well as how speed and energy are related. 

Math: This week, scholars will have an assessment on place value. Scholars will also begin a new chapter on subtracting three-digits and the importance of place value. 

Highlights:  We have finished the first week of school with a success. The scholars are still getting acquainted with classroom behavior and expectations. We do ask that you remind your scholar about classroom behavior expectations as well.
