ELA (Grammar/Writing/Literature/Poetry

  • ·         Grammar/Writing: This week scholars will continue to review for their upcoming grammar test. In writing, scholars will be introduced to dialogue and monologue. The scholars will look at "The Wizard of Oz" and "Athena Defeats Poseidon". 

  • ·         Literature: This week in Literature scholars will finish up reading Robin Hood. The scholars will begin to work on their Robin Hood essay packet that is due on 12/16. The next classic we are going to read is Carry On, Mr. Bowditch.

  • ·         Poetry: Scholars will begin a new poem this week, Sonnet 116 by Shakespeare.
  • History: This week we will learn about an English prince who became king when he was only two years old as well as how women were viewed the Middle Ages.
  • Science: This week we will look at the structure of plants and learn about the functions of each part of the plant! We will also look at the human eye and identify the different parts which allow us to see.
  • Math: This week scholars will add and subtract fractions as well as applying those skills to word problems.
