ELA (Grammar/Writing/Literature/Poetry

  • ·         Grammar/Writing: This week scholars will be begin learning about predicate nominatives and how they are identified in sentences as well as diagraming. In writing, scholars are learning about the different types of narratives and introducing "The Tortoise and the Hare". 

  • ·         Literature: This week in Literature scholars will continue reading our classic Robin Hood (ISBN 9780141329383). 

  • ·         Poetry: Scholars will continue working on their new poem The Tyger. The scholars will recite for a grade on 11/18.
  • History: This week scholars will continue learning about Medieval Europe.  We are going to learn what life was like on a manor and how castles were built and the purpose of them. 
  • Science: This week scholars will begin a new unit on living things. Scholars will have a lab on  Monday with celery stalks to demonstrate the parts of the celery as well as how living things absorb.
  • Math: This week scholars will be assessed on chapter 3-4 as a cumulative assessment. We are going to be reviewing in the classroom but it is important that scholars are able to do all their work independently at home.
